December's Wish List

We're well and truly into winter.  Does the sun even rise anymore or shall we all just hibernate?  Fear not - these goodies will make it better.

Legendary moisturiser which can go everywhere. Your face, fingers, hair tips, eyebrows, elbows...the whole hokey-cokey really.  Feels like earwax but works wonders.  Apply to face the night before a big event and your face will look so soft people will want to touch it (in a non-creepy way). (Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream: Boots and Debenhams, £25)

Rule Britainia with a flag and some (French) truffles.  The only problem is that there are only three in a pack.  Which means there simply aren't enough to go round. (Charbonnel et Walker Milk Chocolate Truffles: John Lewis)

Nobody ever wants to do work just before Christmas, so at least pretend you're doing something with these.... (365 Daily Office Dares: John Lewis, £8)

SNS001 - small notelet setWell brought up people write thank-you notes.  But sometimes it's a chore (and we ALL know that.)  So Caroline Gardner's notecards will help make it less of a chore, and will not only show off how well you've been brought up, but your excellent taste in stationary. (Caroline Gardner notecards: Waterstones, John Lewis, carolinegardner.com £7.50, )

This is the greatest perfume ever.  Fact.  It's heaven in a bottle.  Fact again.  It makes you smell glorious.  How many times do I have to hint, here?  (Hints of orange, pink pepper, rose and sandalwood.  Very feminine but not like you're smelling your grandmother.)   (Flora by Gucci: John Lewis, Debenhams, Boots, prices vary)

This is a TOP OF THE RANGE food grater.  It doesn't slip, it's a good size and it's really sharp.  But get this: it has a detachable tub on the bottom which catches whatever you're grating.  Goodbye grating-on-a-plate, hello I'll-grate-you-measure-you-and-store-you-all-in-one-go.  (OXO Cheese Grater, John Lewis, Debenhams, Lakeland, £13)
